A Couple of Characters is a podcast for roleplaying game enthusiasts. Hosts Quinn and Alex are a married couple who love the character-creation process. They share their own creations, as well as suggestions for a better RPG experience. Their creativity serves as a wonderful inspiration for other tabletop RPG players. Quinn and Alex discuss their process and how the character's stories inform how they play each role.
Their hobby formed while they were dating. Quinn and Alex had a long-distance relationship in college. During this time, they developed a shared love of tabletop role playing games, or TTRPGs. The two were studying at colleges in different states. They found that Dungeons & Dragons was a good remote hobby to share. During that time, they talked about ideas they had for characters. Soon the couple realized the topic could make a good podcast. Once Quinn and Alex reunited, they started recording the show together.
Beyond Dungeons & Dragons, the character creation process is useful for other games. TTRPGs using original characters include Pathfinder and Call of Cthulhu. A Couple of Characters also offers resources for accessibility in RPGs. Inclusion is important to Quinn and Alex, and they love sharing ways to make games more inclusive. The show focuses on these ideas.
