Diving into her extensive discography—much of which predates my own musical awakening—left me utterly captivated. It's not just house music or the dance genres celebrated on Party Favorz that fascinate me; I'm a music aficionado through and through. My love spans everything from Motown to Stax, Soul, Disco, New Wave, Hard Rock, Punk, Country, and Pop. Franklin stands out as a monumental figure in my musical landscape. Whether I need a boost or I'm already riding a high, her songs are my go-to. Her vocal prowess and stylistic versatility are unmatched, and her influence during the politically charged 60s—when civil rights and anti-war protests were front and center—makes her deserving of her title, the Queen of Soul. Although Party Favorz focuses predominantly on dance music, Franklin's contributions to the genre shouldn't be underestimated. While she wasn't initially part of the dance music scene, her foray into it began in the early 80s with the disco classic "Jump To It" and later in the decade after switching Clive Davis' Arista Records on hits like "Freeway of Love," "Who's Zoomin' Who," and "Another Night." These songs showed her knack for genre fluidity. By the early 90s, Franklin had truly ventured into House Music, thanks to the C + C Music Factory's remix of "A Deeper Love" from the "Sister Act 2" soundtrack. This track has not only become a staple in DJ sets but is also an iconic anthem for the LGBTQ+ community. Worth noting is how today's DJs are reviving many of Franklin's earlier hits for new audiences. These songs are often sampled and remixed, creating a bridge between her legacy and contemporary dance music. This updated set is an extension of her original Diva Hall of Fame induction, and it incorporates new releases and alternate versions that weren't initially featured. As I heard about Franklin's illness, I felt compelled to revisit and expand this collection. I won't lie; blending these diverse genres was a complex undertaking, but it's been a labor of love. Today, Party Favorz honors Aretha Franklin, an undisputed icon in American music history, in the only way we know how. With utmost love and R-E-S-P-E-C-T, ladies and gentlemen, I present the incredible Aretha Franklin. Until the next time...ENJOY! Since the passing of Miss Aretha, there were several more remixes that dropped and suddenly, the second edition of her Diva Hall of Fame (and now Legacy) entries felt incomplete. I've since gone back and reworked the entire mix with the new entries and remastered everything for an overall better listening experience.

Her impact on music and pop culture cannot be overstated. In her honor, Party Favorz is reposting her induction into the Diva Hall of Fame, celebrating a life and career that transcended and redefined boundaries. From the turbulent beginnings as Ike & Tina Turner's dynamic frontwoman, she rose from the ashes of an abusive relationship to shine as a solo performer. Tina's influence reached across genres, nations, and generations. Her 1984 breakthrough album, "Private Dancer," catapulted her to the apex of music stardom, establishing her as a powerhouse with an indomitable spirit and a voice that left an indelible mark on the world of music. Throughout her career, Tina Turner accrued an impressive list of accolades: 12 Grammy Awards, recognition as the first black artist to grace Rolling Stone's cover, inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and standing among the best-selling artists of all time. Turner never stopped pushing boundaries, not even in her twilight years. She embarked on a worldwide tour from 2008 - 2009, followed by the "Tina! 50th Anniversary Tour," which stood as the 9th highest grossing tour of 2009. Tina Turner's contribution to music wasn't confined to rock and roll. Her work found resonance on dance floors in the 80s and 90s, thanks to extended dance versions and remixes of her songs, which bridged the gap to the emerging house music scene. Notably, "When the Heartache Is Over" from her final album "Twenty Four Seven" found major success after being remixed for the dancefloor. Not just a musical phenomenon, Tina Turner also emerged as a gay icon, commanding a massive fan following within the LGBTQ+ community. This recognition led to her well-deserved induction into the Diva Hall of Fame. As we remember Tina Turner, we acknowledge her vast musical catalogue that encompassed various styles, genres, and tempos. Her music was a testament to her talent, transcending boundaries and blending effortlessly into various musical landscapes. Tonight, as HBO re-airs the documentary "Tina," we bid farewell to this musical maverick. At 80, Tina Turner leaves behind a legacy that is as grand as it is inspiring. She gifted the world six decades of her unique sound, leaving an indelible mark on music and culture. As we honor the incomparable Tina Turner's entry into the Diva Hall of Fame, we remember and celebrate her life, her exceptional career, and the joy she brought into our lives. Tina, you will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, Queen.

Alongside icons like Diana Ross, Cher, and Madonna, Donna Summer's legacy as the Queen of Disco is undisputed. With the recent release of the Neil Bogart biopic "Spinning Gold," which chronicles the illustrious career of this visionary pop music hitmaker, who also happened to be the head of one of the most successful music labels capitalizing on the Disco trend of the 1970s, and the upcoming HBO documentary titled "Love To Love You," which features never-before-seen photographs and video footage shot by Miss Summer herself and has extensive involvement from her daughter Brooklyn Sudano, Party Favorz, felt it was finally time to pay tribute to the most important part of Donna Summer's career and her timeless songs that earned her the title "Queen of Disco." Previous tribute sets to Donna Summer by Party Favorz featured the original versions of her songs. However, due to the nature of the way songs were created in the past, with live orchestras and bands, the tempos were not always conducive to modern DJ mixing. This was evident in her retrospective album "On The Radio" released in 1980, where the label released a mixed version of the songs in an edited format, using synthesized effects in between songs to create the illusion of a mix. Party Favorz, took on the challenge of editing the original versions into a continuous mix that utilized more of the lengthy originals, staying true to the original sound of Donna Summer's music, and the result was fantastic. This revisited series of Donna Summer's music also delves into her often-overlooked repertoire from the 1980s, a mixed bag of hits and misses. However, when Donna Summer nailed it, she did so with great fanfare, and Party Favorz wanted to showcase these gems, allowing listeners to experience more of her songs as they were originally released for the dance floor. With some dramatic tempo changes in the songs, Party Favorz got creative in finalizing the track order to ensure a seamless listening experience for Donna Summer's devoted fans, who are sure to be pleased with the final product. Donna Summer's career had a resurgence in the late 1990s, resulting in an entirely new era for her music. While Party Favorz has previously released what was thought to be the ultimate collection of this period, the continuous release of new modern-day remixes of her biggest hits has prompted a second volume, set to drop later this year, to capture this ongoing evolution of Donna Summer's music. It's worth mentioning that Party Favorz relied heavil...

An artist who refuses to be pigeonholed, Piontek has managed to remain on the cutting edge while dipping his toes into various sub-genres. The Purple Disco Machine project first gained traction in 2009, rooted in a distinct Deep Funk-branded Disco House music style. Although the initial journey had its ups and downs, it was the 2013 release of "My House" that marked a turning point. The track topped the Beatport Deep House charts and became a defining moment that signaled his arrival in the mainstream. Purple Disco Machine's star really started to soar in 2018. A particular highlight was his ingenious reworking of "Male Stripper" by Man 2 Man called "(Dished) Male Stripper", that utilized one of many riffs from the iconic Loleatta Holloway. This remix effortlessly blended the camp of the original 90s techno track with a pulsating, contemporary beat, winning acclaim in both underground and mainstream dance clubs. It even earned a spot on our "Top Dance Songs of the Year" series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3I5SKItOWeI Beyond these accomplishments, he's showcased an exceptional range of adaptability. The artist has worked with a plethora of dance music's crème de la crème, from Jamiroquai and New Order to Faithless and Claptone. His transformative power as a producer has allowed songs by Hercules & Love Affair, Sigma with Paloma Faith, and even our personal favorite, Shapeshifters, to get a new lease on life on the dance floor. And it's not just his older works that keep us intrigued; he's also turned his creative flair towards newer chart-toppers. From the soulful beats of Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande's "Rain On Me" to the pulsing energy of Weiss' "Feel My Needs," his Midas touch seems to know no bounds. With each collaboration or remix, he reimagines the musical landscape, as seen with The Human League's "Don't You Want Me," Claptone & Mylo's "Drop The Pressure," and the latest offering, "Hypnotized," featuring Sophie & The Giants. Purple Disco Machine has crafted a unique Funky House style that seamlessly integrates into multiple genres. Far from being pigeonholed, his musical approach works wonders with pop anthems and underground House tracks alike. He has a particular affinity for Indie artists such as Hercules & Love Affair and Sophie & The Giants. This chameleon-like ability allows him to take any track, whether it's an iconic classic or an overlooked gem, and transform it into an irresistible dance floor magnet.

Each volume so far has been a lesson in Moran's unmatched versatility and influence, and this grand finale is no exception. Opening with Judy Torres' "Hell No," we're reminded of Tony Moran's unique skill in balancing the line between underground cred and mainstream visibility. His treatment of Torres' energetic vocals is more than just a remix; it's an electrifying sonic experience that elevates the track to a club anthem. But why stop there? Moran's mastery extends to pop princess Christina Aguilera with her hit "Ain't No Other Man." He has the magical ability to inject a new life into any track, turning it into an inescapable dance floor magnet. Another hallmark of Moran's career has been his work with some of the industry's most soulful voices, exemplified by his remix of Rihanna's "Russian Roulette." His remix isn't just a twist on the original; it's a powerful reimagining that adds a pulsing, irresistible beat, transforming it into a bona fide dance-floor classic. If ever there was a tune to light up the night, it's Erin Hamilton's "The Flame 2008." In Moran's capable hands, the song is reborn into a sonic tapestry that flares with passion and groove. Moving onto Kristine W’s “The Power of Music,” we find Tony Moran's handprints all over this masterpiece. He twists and turns the original composition into a musical narrative that effortlessly fits into the thematic richness of the Ultimate Tony Moran Legacy series. Ah, but who could forget the sassy Rosabel with Jeanie Tracy on "Cha Cha Heels"? Moran taps into the infectious energy of the track, adding an extra layer of glitter and grandeur that only he could pull off. For those who remember the booming voice of Martha Wash on Tony Moran's "Free People," this final volume is an auditory feast. It reaffirms Moran's genius for drawing out the soul from within, transforming already vibrant tracks into divine dance anthems. The volume rounds out with "Perfect Bitch," a collaboration with Jason Walker. This track brings us full circle, encapsulating Moran's trademark fusion of vigorous beats and authentic artistry. What we've learned from this four-volume series is that Tony Moran's contributions to dance music are immeasurable. He's more than a remixer or a DJ; he's a musical force that has shaped the past, the present, and will undoubtedly continue to influence the future of the genre. As we close the final chapter of this series, it's clear that Tony Moran's legacy is far from over....

With each set, it becomes abundantly clear that Moran isn't just a one-hit-wonder; he's an industry titan whose flair for remixing and production has left an indelible mark on dance music. Moran's breadth of work is impressive, to say the least. Whether contributing tracks for his own "Event" compilations or lending his Midas touch to other artists, he's accumulated an astonishing number of chart-topping songs—many reaching the zenith of the Dance Club charts, while others have conquered various other charts, including the illustrious Hot 100. In many ways, he's paved the way for the next generation of DJ-producer-entertainers like Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Skrillex, and Avicii, who've transitioned their talents from the studio to colossal live shows. Let's talk about some of the spectacular songs that are featured in this volume. "Real Love" by Deborah Cooper is a testament to Moran's ability to infuse classic house elements with a modern touch. Then there's "Keep Your Body Workin'" featuring Martha Wash, which has become an anthemic number that resonates across dance floors. Annie Lennox's "Into The West" takes on a new dimension under Moran's expert touch, transforming it into a dance track that retains its original emotional power. Ben Platt’s "Waving Through A Window," featuring the Original Broadway Cast of Dear Evan Hansen, showcases Moran's knack for traversing genres. He managed to turn a Broadway ballad into a danceable tune without losing an ounce of its raw emotion. Jennifer Lopez's "Qué Hiciste" gets a sultry, rhythmic overhaul that showcases J.Lo's vocal prowess in a completely new light. Moran’s remix of "Give It Up" by Kevin Aviance is a pulsating extravaganza, and “I’d Rather Be Me” from the cast of Mean Girls is a delightful surprise, as he spins its youthful energy into dance gold. In conclusion, Tony Moran is not just surviving in this industry; he’s thriving and evolving. Moran has skillfully remixed a bevy of the era's most resplendent tunes, crafting a discography that reads like an exclusive guest list to our own Diva Hall of Fame. The need to enumerate these names is superfluous—they're all here, captured in the undulating grooves of his masterful remixes. Rather than segmenting Moran's prolific output over the past two decades, this volume opts for a rich blend, offering fans a seamless tapestry that spans 22 illustrious years. His career, far from waning, shows every sign of thriving, still pulsating with new energy. Let's talk about some songs that have been immortalized by Moran's magic touch. Take Oceana's "Body Rock" for example—a track that already has its merits but has been elevated to a whole new level under his skilled hands. Moran’s mix introduces an electrifying charge that makes the dance floor virtually irresistible. Or consider his reimagining of Deborah Cox's "Easy as Life," where Moran unravels the very fabric of the song and reweaves it with threads of auditory gold. The result? An anthem that beckons, ignites, and resonates in the soul. Rihanna's "Unfaithful" carries the emotional weight of its lyrics, but Moran adds an entirely new layer of complexity, giving the tune a unique twist that fits perfectly in any club environment. Then there's "Heaven's What I Feel" by Gloria Estefan, where Moran not only preserves the song's initial zest but also enhances it, infusing an extra dose of euphoria into its melody. And who could ignore his collaborative opus, "Magic," featuring the formidable Jennifer Holliday? This track is more than just a song; it's an experience, a wave of sounds that wash over you, leaving you drenched in its spellbinding allure. Songs by Diva Hall of Famers like Mariah Carey’s “Don’t Forget About Us,” Donna Summer’s “You’re So Beautiful,” and Cher's “Take It Like A Man” have also been graced by Moran’s inimitable style, further solidifying his place as a living legend in the world of dance music. What has become abundantly clear is that Tony Moran is not merely a producer or a remixer. He is an alchemist, skillfully transforming already exquisite tracks into new forms of sonic gold. His career, a shining beacon in the dance music universe, promises even more astounding works to come. It's with a sense of awe and immense respect that Party Favorz honors the multifaceted Tony Moran with this volume, an essential installment in our Legacy series. Until the next time…ENJOY! With an illustrious career that boasts two Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart-toppers in 2007 alone—"Walk Away" featuring Kristine W and "Keep Your Body Working" featuring Martha Wash—Moran is no stranger to the pinnacle of success. To date, he's scored a staggering seven U.S. Billboard Dance Club Songs number-one hits, punctuated by four chart dominators in the years 2016 and 2017. Don't mistake him as just another remix producer; Moran is the man behind iconic reimaginings of tunes from music royalty like Janet Jackson, Madonna, George Michael, and Mariah Carey, just to name a few. In the '90s, when luminaries like David Morales, Junior Vasquez, or Hex Hector were otherwise engaged, Moran was the go-to genius. His reputation ascended even further as the millennium progressed, filling the void left by Morales, Vasquez, and the reclusive Hector. Collaborations with Jody Den Broeder and Warren Rigg yielded anthems that have defined a generation. And let's get this straight—his '90s oeuvre was no mere stepping stone. His craftsmanship then was as impeccable as it is now, capturing the essence of the dancefloor while adding his own unique flair. His groundbreaking remix of Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On," replete with pounding tribal beats and electrifying synths, became an instant queer anthem, arguably even outdoing Hex Hector himself. Beyond remixes, Moran has also dropped albums featuring diva collaborations that were seismic events in their own right. The resultant club anthems were pure fire, drenching dance floors globally in euphoria and sweat. Moran's name drew colossal crowds worldwide, cementing him as one of the first 'Superstar DJs' alongside legends like Tiesto. Still riding high, Tony Moran continues to churn out chart-busting hits for artists like Jason Walker and Martha Wash. Volume 3 of this Legacy series is a kaleidoscopic journey through his remarkable catalog, blending the commercial with the underground in a way that only Rosario can. When you think of Ralphi Rosario, it's hard not to jump straight to chart-toppers like Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande's "Rain On Me" or the Black Eyed Peas' "RITMO"—both remixed by Rosario and rapturously received over the past year. But, Rosario's influence stretches far beyond these blockbuster hits. Take, for example, his remix of Cher's "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)," a splashy and effervescent tune that turns every dance floor into a vibrant spectacle. It's a refreshing testament to Rosario's genius: knowing just what a track needs to transform from good to iconic. Rosario's scope isn't just confined to the latest hits. Remember Barry Manilow's "Copacabana 2005"? Rosario's reimagining breathed new life into this classic, taking us on a sonic vacation to that mythical club where "music and passion were always in fashion." The collaboration between Rosabel and Jennifer Holliday on "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" is nothing short of iconic in the gay community and beyond. This power-packed anthem, originally from the Broadway musical 'Dreamgirls,' was given a transformative Rosabel remix that thrust it straight back into the spotlight. With Holliday's impassioned vocals layered over Rosabel's rhythmic, high-energy beats, the song becomes more than a show-stopping number; it becomes an emblem of resilience and self-empowerment making one of the all-time favorite gay anthems. This Rosabel remix is not just another track on a playlist; it's an auditory experience that uplifts, unites, and gives voice to the struggles and triumphs of the LGBTQ+ community. The song pulses through dancefloors and Pride parades alike, serving as an enduring testament to Rosabel's and Jennifer Holliday's indelible marks on both music and culture. Stevie Nicks' "Stand Back," another gem given the Rosario treatment, illuminates the diversity of his repertoire, showing he can adapt his style to bring out the best in rock-flavored dance tunes. Then, he'll pivot effortlessly to soulful classics like Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff," adding a contemporary spark without tarnishing the original's fiery essence. The intoxicating "F$ck Your Boyfriend (F.U.B.F.)" co-crafted with Frankie Catalano is another cornerstone that showcases Rosario's risk-taking and rebellious spirit. This audacious track has been a guilty pleasure for many and adds to the Rosario enigma.

As we continue to celebrate his expansive career, it's evident that whittling down decades of unparalleled artistry into just three volumes is a Herculean task. So, let's cut right to it, shall we? Our second volume seamlessly picks up from where the first left off, delivering an  experience that touches on Ralphi's multi-faceted talents. While you can expect the inclusion of last year's mammoth hit "RITMO" by Black Eyed Peas & J Balvin, this compilation also paves the way for surprises. Rest assured, the tune you've all been clamoring for will make its grand appearance in the upcoming Volume 3. Intrigued yet? Part of the magic of Ralphi Rosario is his dexterity in moving beyond the mainstream. That’s evident when he takes on iconic tracks like "Spice Up Your Life" by the Spice Girls, injecting it with a fresh vitality. On LaTour's "People Are Still Having Sex," Ralphi infuses a pulsating beat that becomes impossible to resist. Then there's his mesmerizing spin on Nelly Furtado's "Promiscuous," which marries a tantalizing rhythm with a sultry vocal, perfect for igniting any dance floor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zrxkk7MDqY And let's not overlook his subterranean gems. When Ralphi gets his hands on tracks like "Rise Up" by Funky Green Dogs or Deborah Cooper's "Real Love," they get transformed into deep, groovy anthems that have lit up underground scenes. Meanwhile, Ralphi's work on Kristine W's "Fly Again" and Jennifer Lopez’s "On The Floor" serve as testaments to his adeptness at bridging the gap between commercial pop and club culture. Ralphi and his frequent collaborator Rosabel have also made significant contributions to the Latin dance scene, rivaling stalwarts like Pablo Flores and Tony Moran. This series takes a moment to spotlight such work, encapsulating the vibrancy and diversity that only Ralphi and Rosabel can offer. For those of you who've only been exposed to Ralphi's commercial successes, prepare to uncover a rich tapestry of beats that extend far beyond the popular spectrum. The crux of this second volume lies in its range, presenting a panoramic view of Ralphi Rosario's enduring impact on the dance music scene. We'll cap off this monumental tribute with Volume 3, set to release this Saturday. Hold onto your dancing shoes; the final act promises to be an electrifying crescendo to an already sensational series. Until the next time...ENJOY! A founding member of Chicago's trailblazing DJ collective, Hot Mix 5, Rosario helped lay the groundwork for the house music movement while he was still in high school. By 1987, his collaboration with Xaviera Gold on "You Used To Hold Me" had already secured its place as one of the seminal tracks in house music history—a catalyst for seismic shifts on dancefloors everywhere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tava2f-qrfw Rosario's creative path took a transformative turn in the nineties when he teamed up with Miami's DJ Abel Aguilera to create Rosabel—a portmanteau of Rosario's surname and Abel's first name. This new venture marked Rosario's evolution from classic house to a more tribal, Latin-infused sound—a stylistic pivot he has honed to near-perfection over the years. As Rosabel, they layered their heritage and various musical influences into electrifying house tracks that became anthems for major artists. The duo's credentials are impressive, to say the least, racking up five #1 Billboard Dance Club hits. On his own, Rosario has amassed fourteen Top Ten Dance Club hits and two chart-toppers. And let's not even get into his epic list of remixes, which features the crème de la crème of the music industry—from Madonna and Beyoncé to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. The overwhelming majority of these artists have already found their way into our Diva Hall of Fame, a testament to Rosario's influence. Selecting from a staggering 60-plus hours of tracks was a monumental task. I aimed for the most iconic, diva-centric tracks, embracing both the nineties and the new millennium, and including some underground gems that have been queer club mainstays. The final result? Three exhilarating sets amounting to more than 8 hours of sonic bliss, capturing just a fraction of Rosario's immense catalog. These compilations don't claim to encapsulate Rosario's entire career, but they're a sublime starting point. It's a celebration of a music maestro who has shaped the house music landscape for the past four decades. So, it's with immense pride and honor that we welcome the indomitable Ralphi Rosario into the Party Favorz Legacy series. Brace yourselves; you're in for an auditory feast. Renowned for his androgynous allure and falsetto vocal chops, Sylvester rose to stardom in the late '70s and early '80s, turning heads and filling dance floors. Sylvester's musical journey took off with his self-titled debut album in 1977, featuring the moderately successful disco hit "Over and Over," beautifully showcased in DJ Meme’s nostalgic tribute mix. The following year, he dropped the seminal album "Step II," giving us timeless dance classics like "Dance (Disco Heat)" and "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)." These hits featured backup vocalists Martha Wash and Izora Rhodes, known together as Two Tons O' Fun, who later gained gay icon status with the unforgettable "It's Raining Men" as the Weather Girls. It's imperative to recognize the influence of Patrick Cowley in shaping Sylvester's sonic landscape. Invited to participate in these sessions, Cowley's synthesized arrangements became a cornerstone of Sylvester’s most iconic songs. Later, Cowley would become an even more significant contributor to Sylvester's legacy, particularly during his ventures into NRG music. Although the album "Stars" had its moments, particularly with the track "I (Who Have Nothing)," it couldn't match the seismic impact of its predecessor. Sylvester faced subsequent challenges, including the decline in popularity of disco due to the "disco sucks" backlash. This led him to part ways with his label and take greater control over his artistic direction. Reuniting with Patrick Cowley, Sylvester released music on Cowley's Megatone Records. At a time when NRG music was taking gay clubs by storm, the duo released "Do Ya Wanna Funk," a track that would become an enduring gay anthem. Tragically, during a tour in the UK, Sylvester was rocked by the news of Cowley's passing due to AIDS. Sylvester continued to release music, achieving varying degrees of success, until his final album "Mutual Attraction." Distributed through Warner Brothers, the album yielded chart-topping dance hits like "Someone Like You" and "Living For the City." Unfortunately, his declining health prevented him from completing his next album. Creating this tribute set was an emotionally taxing endeavor. The tracks span five decades, incorporating various remixes and tempos ranging from 147 to 106 bpm. The challenge was monumental, but the final result is a tribute that I believe does justice to Sylvester’s indomitable spirit and incomparable talent. Sylvester wasn't just a disco sensation; he was an Amer...

Donna Summer is an icon who laid down the path for future artists like Madonna, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, and many others to use their sexuality and create their own brands on their own terms. Regardless of the much-hyped manipulations behind the scenes, she was a willing participant and took full advantage of her success up until the point she wrestled herself away from Neil Bogart's Casablanca records leaving a legacy that up until that point — no other female artist had achieved. Today, Donna Summer has a legion of fans both young and old, and serves as an inspiration to many would-be female artists who whether they realize it or not — are deeply indebted to her trailblazing career. The Queen of Disco is no stranger to Party Favorz, who ranks her at the top of our leading ladies along with Diana Ross and Cher. This tribute set focuses on her work in the 90s through the early millennium and takes a deep dive into updated versions of her back catalog. If any of these tracks are unfamiliar to you or your era was the 70's — look no further than the Casablanca Years set I put out in 2015. There you will find all of her radio and club hits in probably one of the best tribute sets ever laid down honoring the Queen. When the word "Ultimate" is dropped into the title of one of these series — it's because it's comprehensive and really long. Leaving no stone unturned, I poured through countless bootlegs and official remixes to put this thing together. Many of the songs on here may be new to even her most ardent supporters. This past couple of Diva Series I've put out has been a bitch to mix and this one was no exception. There's a vast array of styles here from modern-day electro-pop to circuit tribal house and straight-up funky house. Yet, it all feels cohesive and frankly — just works. It's nothing short of an earth-shattering tribute that dives deep into the prodigious career of this industry titan. Volume 2 is particularly focused on the late '80s through the present day, capturing the essence of Junior Vasquez's meteoric rise during the '90s and early millennium. Two anthems demand your attention. Barbara Tucker's "Love's On Time" starts as a as a spoken word motherly advice backed by a gospel choir before building into a massive, gay anthem, encapsulating the hope that love arrives just when you need it. On the other hand, Jennifer Holliday's "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" is the quintessential gay anthem, combining Holliday's sky-high vocals with a message of defiant resilience—echoing sentiments deeply rooted in the LGBTQ+ community. Junior's mastery transforms these tracks, not merely remixing them, but elevating them into unforgettable experiences. This volume also serves up Junior's unforgettable reimaginings for the incomparable Mary J. Blige and Billie Ray Martin. His version of "Your Child" takes Blige's soulful vocals to new heights, while "Your Loving Arms" completely redefines the original, turning it into a dancefloor anthem that has stood the test of time. Of course, it would be a disservice not to mention his work with the infallible Whitney Houston, an artist who needs no introduction. Both "Greatest Love of All" and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" are transformed into uplifiting dance hits that honor the late diva while ensuring that her voice still reigns supreme on the dancefloor. And then we have Kristine W and her track "Feel What You Want," another example of how Junior has the exceptional ability to inject his own DNA into a song while respecting the essence of the original. Let's not forget his self-referential "If Madonna Calls," a track that put him on the outs with the DIVA who eventually sidelined him in favor of other DJs in our legacy series, and Nelly Furtado's "I'm Like A Bird," which Junior turned from a quicklypop song into a massive dance club hit. Finally, Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors" receives a Pride-worthy remix from Junior, perfectly capturing the spirit of the original while giving it an injection of pure dance energy. If you haven't caught on yet, Junior Vasquez was the ultimate purveyor of gay anthems to our community and we are forever indedbted to him. In creating this second volume, our intent was to showcase the range and diversity of Junior Vasquez's decades-long career. From working with divas to music legends and under...

His enthusiasm for DJ Larry Levan at the infamous Paradise Garage led him to Shep Pettibone (another DJ/producer begging for a Legacy induction) where they edited mixes for multiple artists like Madonna, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Pet Shop Boys, and more. Several of his earliest underground House hits like "Work That Pussy" and "Drag Queen" were under the moniker Ellis D with the latter featured here. In 1989, he co-founded the Sound Factory and simultaneously became an in-demand remixer for several big-label artists. After the Sound Factory closed in 1995, he held multiple residencies including at the Tunnel, and subsequently returned to the former Sound Factory now called Arena. IF MADONNA CALLS Junior introduced Madonna to vogue at the Sound Factory, which served as an inspiration for a massively successful song in 1990 by the same name. At the time, she was making a name for herself on the dancefloor by embracing the emerging House Music sounds and flipping them to a more commercial audience. She has long been associated with dance music trends by associating herself with underground names like Shep Pettibone and William Orbit before latching onto Junior Vasquez to remix several tracks from her "Bedtime Stories" album. It was around this time she had allegedly agreed to perform at one of Junior's Sound Factory shows and bowed out at the last moment. Queens being queens, Junior took one of the messages she left on his answering machine and looped it into the deep house groove "If Madonna Calls" without her permission using the phrase "this is Madonna" "are you there" "call me in Miami." The bitch track went all the way to #2 on the Billboard Dance Club charts and spawned multiple remixes — including anniversary remixes. Afterward, any chance of reconciliation and working together again went out the door. This turned out to be a lucky move on her part as she went on to introduce the world to Victor Calderone and Peter Rauhofer (who was already riding high with Club 69). Nevertheless, neither of them is getting any younger and Madge is going through some things at the moment. It's time to come together and bury the hatchet. Life's too short for former besties to hold onto grudges. This set does not reflect any official Junior remixes of Madonna other than "Secret" and the fabulous Marvin Gaye rendering of "I Want You" where Junior was commissioned to remix the track but it never received an official release. Prince was an American singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, dancer, actor, and filmmaker. He was a prolific writer and recorded so many songs that his fight with Warner Brothers lead them to put the breaks on his releases for fear of oversaturation.  He often gave songs away for free under different pseudonyms like "Manic Monday" by the Bangles (Christoper), "Sugar Walls" by Sheena Easton (Alexander Nevermind), "Jungle Love" and "The Bird" by the Time (The Starr ★ Company). Also, his music was covered by other artists — most notably "I Feel For U" by Chaka Khan, "Nothing Compares 2 U" by Sinead O'Connor and even the John Cougar Mellencamp produced "When You Were Mine" by Mitch Ryder among many others. Prince also produced several acts like the Time (mentioned above), Sheila E (Glamourous Life), and Vanity 6 (Nasty Girl) as well as a host of others. Ultimately, Prince was one of a dozen artists that provided the soundtrack to the eighties. With musical styles that ranged from Funk, Rock, New Wave, Soul, Psychedelia, and pop, he was considered the quintessential artist in that he drew his inspiration from people like David Bowie, James Brown, Sly & the Family Stone, Jimi Hendrix, George Clinton, Miles Davis among many others and it showed in his music and performances. In 1985, I was living in Austin, TX, and working as a copy clerk for the Austin American Statesman and part-time for Hastings Records in the mall. We frequently received free tickets to concerts and Bruce Springsteen and Prince were playing weeks apart from each other. I was a fan of both artists but there were only so many tickets to go around so I opted for the Prince tickets. These were for his Purple Rain tour and my best friend Dan and I went to the concert where he put on a 2-hour funk and rock extravaganza as we had never seen. His performance was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and has stuck with me as one of the most memorable I had ever attended. There is just way too much to cover about this man and his genius that hasn't already been written. The contributions that Prince has made to music, his guitar skills, his songwriting his production, and his everything make him one of the most admired if not influential artists of all time. Given the substantial output and variety of his catalog that goes back to 1969 — it was near impossible to do any justice to the legacy Bowie has left us — until now. There's no doubt he would have gravitated toward the current electronic movement and even began remixing his work in the early 90s.  That being said, with a variety of music styles and the ability to capture the true magic of his work — it is nearly impossible to recreate.  Nevertheless, I persisted and pulled off something special for hardcore fans (such as myself) that at the very least extract multiple highlights of his career even if it's not all-encompassing. Frankly, a good portion of his catalog would be near impossible to translate to the dance floor. I have to admit, the Julian Marsh remix of "Space Oddity" and the 7th Heaven remix of "Rebel Rebel" is spectacularly executed, as well as several others. I cannot deny the emotions that overwhelm me when I listen to his music as it brings back a flood of memories — some good, while others, not so much. It just proves that Bowie's music will stand the test of time. It is with much love and respect that Party Favorz honors David Bowie with his own tribute to dance music. Some may consider this tribute blasphemy but there's no doubt this would have been his next act. RIP Ziggy. With a career spanning over two decades, Wayne G is nothing short of an institution in the realm of circuit music. He's a go-to name for uplifting beats, high-energy vibes, and stirring vocal performances—essentially a diva magnet. This man has meticulously crafted remixes of some of the most cherished LGBTQ anthems, breathing new life into hits from icons like Kylie Minogue and Cher. Wayne G's work can often draw favorable comparisons to another luminary of the dance world, Hex Hector. Both talents excel at creating expansive, layered anthems that build anticipation to almost unbearable levels, only to explode with euphoric energy, defying the track's extended length of over 8 minutes. While the industry's tastes have evolved, there's a timeless quality to this sort of meticulous composition that makes Wayne's tracks continually relevant. Among his standout remixes are those of Australian singer Shauna Jensen. Her powerful vocals create an electrifying atmosphere, making her tracks, as enhanced by Wayne, a siren call to the dance floor regardless of venue size. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFTyyw1p-KU The decision to include Wayne G in Party Favorz's esteemed Legacy Series was already in the pipeline, but the urgency ramped up when a devoted follower sent over some exceptional, albeit rare, tracks from Wayne's discography. Although it wasn't possible to feature his entire extensive back catalog, the curated list in this tribute is guaranteed to ignite your dance spirits and evoke gratitude to the dance music deities. A quick heads-up for the audiophiles among us: The remixes of Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful" and Anastacia's "I'm Outta Love" included in this tribute are rare bootleg versions and are in mono. Despite not being in full stereo, the quality of the remixes made them impossible to omit. So, whether you're a long-time admirer or a soon-to-be fan, it's with immense pleasure that Party Favorz honors Wayne G for his invaluable contributions to dance music and, by extension, to the tapestry of LGBTQ culture. His work doesn't merely demand your ears; it deserves them. Until the next time...ENJOY! Album: Wayne G - One Night In Heaven Genre: Circuit, Tribal, HouseYear: 2019Total Time: 03:38:46 1. Based out of Houston, Texas, where De Lange owns popular venues like Bayou City Bar and the Eagle, these guys are not just making music; they're field-testing it in real-time in their own establishments. With roots in the club scene stretching back to the late '70s and early '80s, Dirty Disco brings a rich tapestry of musical history to their remixes and productions. This wealth of experience enables them to craft compelling soundscapes that reverberate through LGBTQ+ venues and mainstream clubs alike. In this respect, they share a creative echelon with established artists like Barry Harris and Matt Consola, who have also been driving feet to the dance floor for years. Having engaged with Mark personally, I can vouch for his genuine passion for dance music—a passion that aligns closely with our own here at Party Favorz. That depth of understanding, coupled with hands-on experience, makes Dirty Disco a formidable force in modern dance music, capable of producing genre-spanning hits. Their work weaves through Circuit Anthems, House, Disco, and Progressive genres, offering a kaleidoscopic auditory experience. Compiling this tribute set was no easy task. Despite having to trim down their extensive catalog to maintain a focused vibe, the final set is a sprawling four-hour odyssey. It's an uncut journey that showcases Dirty Disco's range and talent, featuring everything from fresh originals to rejuvenated classics and anthems. So as you celebrate PRIDE—please, make safety a priority—let this legacy-defining set from Dirty Disco fuel your joy and your dance moves. Until the next time...ENJOY! This set is a treasure trove of anthems, masterfully reimagined by the powerhouse duo, Toy Armada & DJ Grind, into uplifting, big-room circuit bangers that celebrate the vibrant gay life. Take Demi Lovato's "Really Don't Care," for example. The original is a pop anthem in its own right, but Toy Armada & DJ Grind transform it into a euphoric ride that becomes an instant Pride classic. The same can be said for Sia's "Alive." Originally a heart-wrenching ballad, it metamorphoses under their hands into a soaring, electrifying crowd-pleaser. Let's not overlook their rework of Lady Gaga's iconic "Born This Way." The duo ramps up the empowerment factor with a tribal beat infusion, making it an inarguable call to arms for self-expression. The pair also turn their creative genius towards the Ben E. King classic, "Stand by Me," featuring a club mix from Joe Gauthreaux that encapsulates the very essence of unwielding friendship, partnership and unity. Madonna's "Get Together" is another example that reflects Toy Armada & DJ Grind's knack for maintaining the original's essence while tailoring it for a big-room atmosphere. Likewise, Ariana Grande's "No Tears Left To Cry" gets an invigorating facelift, turning the original's pop subtlety into an anthem of resilience and triumph. And, of course, we cannot skip over their monumental tribute to the disco queen, Donna Summer. Their tribal tribute mix of "Last Dance," "I Feel Love," and "Bad Girls" is nothing short of a masterstroke that elevates the tracks to new spiritual highs. So go ahead, dive into this rich tapestry of reimagined hits courtesy of Toy Armada & DJ Grind, and let the music elevate your spirit as only they can do. Until the next time...ENJOY!
