In Season 3, we will be diving into the "The 3 Pillars: Mind, Body, & Spirit". Each special guest will share their testimony and faith journey concerning the mind, body, and spirit. You will be both encouraged and given practical tips to live out your life to the fullest, as God has called us to. As it says in John 10:10 NIV,  "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." It is my hope that in this season you are encouraged to strive for holistic health by taking care of your temple in both mind, body, and spirit. So tune into, season 3, and be inspired to be the best version of yourself. Remember, it is only a you vs. you scenario. You can accomplish anything that you put your mind to, as long as God is at the center guiding your life.

In this episode we discuss restoration and healing with Dr. Gholnecsar (Gholdy) Muhammad, who is an Associate Professor of Literacy, Language, and Culture at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She studies Black historical excellence within educational communities with goals of reframing curriculum and instruction today. Dr. Muhammad’s scholarship has appeared in leading academic journals and books, including Research in Teaching English, Urban Education, Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy, Language Arts, and Written Communication. Some of her recognitions include the 2014 recipient of the National Council of Teachers of English, Promising New Researcher Award, the 2016 NCTE Janet Emig Award, the 2017 GSU Urban Education Research Award,  and the 2018 UICxpertise. Having served as a middle school teacher, literacy specialist, school district administrator, and school board president, gave Dr. Muhammad the experience to write the best-selling book Cultivating Genius: An Equity Model for Culturally and Historically Responsive Literacy. She also co-authored the book, Black girls’ literacies: An Edited Volume, published by Routledge.
